Over the last week we have designed an electrical troubleshooting guide to explain the process of diagnosing issues with the satellite box as well as wiring throughout the system. So far this has been the most challenging subject to learn without having access to the equipment to see how things are done first hand.
I am excited to get back to work and spend a little time going through our troubleshooting process with a sat box so i can fully understand what is going on. This is such an important part of irrigation and can save the course lots of money if staff understands the process, and outside help is not required. I look forward to using the time to further my knowledge and add to the list of staff that can deal with these issues. Although irrigation is not my favorite part of the job I look forward to gaining and using the information I have learned, and continue to learn, to help take some of the stress off of other employees and ensure our systems are functioning at their highest capability.
Understanding all the electrical processes, not only help your course but also is a skill that is highly sought after in the golf industry. Although in my area we have a friendly rivalry between the three local courses, we all come together to help each other when issues arise. This has been one of my favorite experiences of working in the Bow Valley over the years. The chance to get your name out by helping others is a great feeling.
